“More Body Work” Pender Worship on August 30, 2026, the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Join us for worship at Pender United Methodist Church on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost, as Pastor Bruce Johnson shares the message:

“More Body Work”

Continuing our reflection on what it means to live and serve together as the Body of Christ, Pastor Bruce will explore Paul's reminder that although we are many members, we are one body—and each of us has been given unique gifts to use in service to God and one another.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus challenges His disciples with the cost of following Him: “If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

This Sunday will also be a special and bittersweet day for our Pender family as we celebrate Patrick King, Director of Music Ministries, on his final Sunday at Pender. We are grateful for the music, leadership, faith, and many gifts Patrick has shared with our congregation.
