Advent Sunday, December 01, 2019 - Tuesday, December 24, 2019
Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas and the return of Jesus at the Second Coming. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning "coming".

A Night in Bethlehem Friday, December 13, 2019, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
This is a FREE family-friendly event! Invite all your family and friends!
Come to Bethlehem and see...a night filled with light! Pender UMC is bringing the Christmas story to life so you and your family can walk through the Bethlehem marketplace and living nativity, and be immersed in the spirit of Christmas.
Visit and participate with Bethlehem bakers, carpenters, potters, scribes, and artists as you learn about the events surrounding Jesus' birth, and see the live animals and actors in the nativity (including a live camel!)
Drop off your children for a night of fun to kick off winter break while you enjoy a night out! We welcome all children who are walking up to 6th grade.
We will have fun games, a kid-friendly movie, story-telling and a dinner of chicken nuggets and fruit.
Pricing: $25 for the first child, $10 for each additional child up to $50 max per family. Registration will be required online as spacing is limited. (This is our first one, and if it’s a success we hope to offer these more frequently in 2020)
If you have any questions, please contact Jami Flemmons.
Gift Wrapping Available: Bring your gifts to be wrapped and we’ll take care of that for you. They will be wrapped and ready to go when you pick up your kiddos! Donations accepted.
The Preschool is participating in the Fairfax County Police Department's "Santa's Ride" toy collection again this year.
We will collect new toys, books and games to be donated to children at INOVA Children's Hospital and Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center during the Christmas season.
On the morning of Tuesday, December 10, Santa and his police motorcade will visit Pender, and all preschool and church families are invited to attend!
Prime Timers Christmas Luncheon

Described as "The awe and mystery of God with us," the Cantata presentation will take place during a combined worship service at 10 a.m.
