Traditional-Blended Worship Time.

Worship is held in our main sanctuary and the entrance is closest to our drive around the circle drop-off. A Welcome Table is just inside and these volunteers will be glad to help you find places in our building or answer questions.

Typical “dressiness” varies from dress casual to more dressy. Children are often a part of our worship which includes a “Children's Time” on the altar steps. Younger children love to file out with friends at the end of Children’s Time for “Children’s Church,” a time of singing, crafts and stories.

Music is varied and inspiring with vocalists, organ and bell choirs. A small acoustic praise music group provides two praise songs. Our choir (youth, adult, or bell) or orchestra facilitate our listening ears for the holy in worship. Hymnals for congregational songs are in the pew racks. (Some large print hymnals are available by asking an usher. And listening aides are available from our Audio-Visual booth in the back.)

Children love Pender! Loving teachers and childcare workers create a great atmosphere for kids! Childcare is located on our lower level, accessed through our main lobby doors via elevator to “L.” For safety, a “sign-in” system is used and the person picking up the child must be the one who signed them in.

"Sunday School" is an hour period of time when education, and interaction in small groups, are offered for our spiritual growth -- from adult to infant. Classes on Sunday mornings are held at 9:30 am and at 11:00 am for all ages.

Common Ground – our Modern Worship Time.

What is a modern worship time?  This worship time is a bit more interactive and centered around a rock music band-style environment, has chairs instead of pews, Joy Boxes instead of offering plates, a short time to interact with someone else, uses multimedia to engage our thoughts at a deeper level, and young children playing with parents in the back of the room! You’ll also find many genuine and warm people of all ages - from children to young adult to older adult.

Common Ground is a slightly higher energy time to connect with Jesus for the first time, as well as to continue growing more deeply in knowing Him. You’ll be challenged to think and act like Jesus so that the world is not the same because of your action in Jesus.

The back of the room features a small toddler area with some activities. Please allow your children to pick up one of the musical instruments in the back and "play along" with the band!

Sing ‘n Celebrate Worship Time.
Sing ‘n Celebrate is held once a month and features a smaller, more intimate time of worship with an acoustic style of music. Each worship time centers around music, prayer, a powerful drama, scripture, and a special reflection (sometimes clergy led but most of the time topical leadership led by a congregation member).

Dress is casual. Words are projected on a screen for singing. The tone is a bit quieter and always genuinely caring for people.
