How to Connect at Pender - First Steps


We'd love for you to begin finding relationships here. To help you with that process, we'll soon be having another "Coffee with the Pastors" or "Welcome to Pender" class. If you'd like to receive information about those dates, please send us a note here.

In one of our "Coffee with the Pastors" events recently, we asked people why they were planning to stay at Pender United Methodist Church! One of the young couples spoke about how they had been out "interviewing" churches. It was an interesting choice of words! The entire group quickly adopted the word, wanting to communicate that finding a warm church family was serious business for them. Good for them!

At Pender, we believe finding a community of generous people who follow Christ together is extremely important. We believe every person who enters our door is highly valuable and a treasure to God. So, they should be to us as well.

"Coffee with the Pastors" takes place periodically with Pastors Kenny and Sandy between worship services. It's a short time of meeting some other new people, asking questions about membership or baptism, and getting some help in finding your place at Pender.

"Welcome to Pender" class takes place three times a year and is a basic introduction class to the people, beliefs, and ministries of Pender. Every new member should take this class as it provides a solid foundation to grow with others in faith and family. It takes place over a a three week span of time, usually on Sunday afternoons. Past groups love the ability to get to know other newer people and the pastors on a more personal basis.
