What's With Those Weird Looking Email Addresses? As
spammers get more and more clever and use more sophisticated tools, those
of us who wish to stay off their lists have to jump through more hoops.
You will see email addresses listed in what is called "munged" format on
the Pender UMC web site. That means we will take certain parts of the
email address and substitute words for symbols and add extra spaces so
what used to be shown as: goawayspam@penderumc.org will become:
goawayspam (at) penderumc (dot) org. You will need to replace (at) with @
and (dot) with . and then remove the extra spaces before sending your
email.

From The Pastor
“Let us hold
unswervingly
to the hope
we profess,
for he who
promised is faithful.”
Hebrews
10:23 | “God is faithful!” What a wonderful theme for our
Missions Conference this year.
The faithfulness of our God is something that cannot be
overlooked. All one has to do is stop and reflect. God’s faithfulness is obvious
everywhere. In our families,
our church and our world we can see the hand of God providing “exceedingly
abundant” more than we can ask or imagine.” (Eph. 2:20) In my own life I cannot escape the
faithfulness of God. He has
blessed me in my health, my children, my marriage and yes even in a time of
financial upheaval, my finances.
God is faithful!
St.
Paul writes, “God is faithful, by
him you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our
Lord.” (I Cor. 1:9) Paul
reminds us that because of the faithfulness of God he has given us a
“fellowship” in Christ. I am
always amazed that God doesn’t just get me and then forget me. He has called me to be his own and
then placed me in a fellowship with others in Christ to encourage,
strengthen and build up.
Wow! Faithfulness that
offers me Christ and his people, that’s awesome.
Being a part of Christ’s
fellowship, his people, allows me to be a part of something greater than
myself. It means being a part
of what others are doing for the Kingdom of Christ. That is best seen in our Faith
Promise Missions Giving.
Because God has been faithful to us and because along with others
we have been faithful, people around the world are blessed and encounter
the faithfulness of God. This
year the goal for Faith Promise has been set at $350,000. We are being invited to ask God
how He desires us to be a part of the work of spreading God’s
faithfulness. Begin to pray
right now and ask God what are you to do in regards to stepping out in
faith to see the faithfulness of God.
During the weekend of April
18-20, 2008 join with your church fellowship and hear how God is faithful
here in Fairfax and around the world. Listen to the stories of God’s
provision. Hear of how God
has worked and changed lives.
Step out in faith and let God lead you into doing his work. God is faithful! Join with me as we hear about it
and act on it.
Faithfully
yours,
Pastor
Kenny
