My path to Pender began at the very blackest point of my life.

My husband and I had both been very active in church until we started going through that darkness called “infertility.”

Because of that, my anger at God pulled us away.

In time, God worked His miracles and blessed us with two children. And because of that blessing, I began a yearning to be closer to Him once more. So, after being apart from any church for six or seven years, our family began looking for a new church family.

Our needs were specific. I needed spiritual guidance and “real” bible knowledge. After trying the worship services at many churches, a friend brought me to a Sunday School class at Pender.

My friend assured me that the family of people at Pender had the biblical knowledge as well as the depth of spirituality that I was looking for. I’ll admit - I was skeptical.

Then I was stunned when I attended the class, and discovered she was right.

That was a few years ago. But even now, the people at Pender are still providing that spiritual guidance and biblical knowledge that fuels my family’s life.

Sometimes, applying Christ’s words to our everyday lives is easy. Sometimes, it’s a struggle. Either way, what I got as a wonderful bonus is a very caring church family. That means we always celebrate with family, and we never struggle alone.

We are blessed – every day.
